PC issues (not starting)
Hello, I’m facing some problems with my PC. The red CPU debug light is illuminated, there’s no signal from the monitor, and my peripherals aren’t functioning. I bought this CPU and realized my motherboard requires a BIOS update—I’ve already installed the latest version using the BIOS flashback tool on a USB drive formatted with FAT32. Once that was done, the red light stopped, so I turned off the PC, reinstalled the CPU, and cleared the CMOS via jbat1 pins.
I also noticed some issues when the unit arrived: a few pins were bent (which I straightened), and two pins are broken. After checking the AM4 pin configuration, it seems those broken pins still let the system boot into BIOS, though it’s not working properly now. If you have any images, I can share them later. Right now, nothing else seems to be resolving the problem.
Your specs are: Ryzen 5 5600X, Corsair Vengeance 16GB, 3600MHz, MSI B450 Pro Gaming, Carbon AC, RM750x RTX 3070, Corsair H100i Platinum.
I found a few bent pins on a board from 2600x three days back. After straightening them, the first boot didn’t work, but the second one started up normally. It seems the CPU might be damaged, possibly due to a BIOS issue, though it already showed signs of being faulty. Unless you have another 5000 chips ready to test on your board, I’d lean toward the CPU being the problem. Do you still have the older chip available so we can check if the boards are functioning?
