I recently assembled a PC and everything proceeded smoothly until I powered it on and noticed the fans spinning but no display appeared. There was essentially no signal, so I followed my usual steps—replaced the CMOS battery and reinstalled it—but it still didn’t work. I also tried removing and reinserting the RAM sticks, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Updating the BIOS via USB didn’t help either. I inspected my CPU to ensure there were no bent pins and everything seemed normal. After confirming the CPU was fine, I swapped out the graphics card to test if it was the culprit, but it wasn’t. Now I’m unsure what to do next and would appreciate any advice from others. Please let me know your suggestions.

Here are some possible causes and steps to troubleshoot:

- Look for any status or blinking lights on your mainboard; these should display codes you can find on the manufacturer's website.
- Test each RAM stick separately or swap them out.
- Verify that PSU wires connect properly to all components and connectors on the board.
- Check the PSU for flashing status lights (older models may have these, newer ones might not).
- Inspect external cables for proper function (try different cables or a different display).
- Remove the NVMe SSD and see if the system boots.
- If issues persist, likely the mainboard, power supply unit, or another component is faulty.

Have you often taken out the CMOS battery to resolve startup problems? This isn't typical to require removal for booting. Could you tell me the brand, model, and age of your power supply unit?

The power supply is brand new and comes with the Thermaltake Smart BM2 550W 80+ Bronze model.

I also attempted to remove the CMOS battery several times, but it continued to fail.

When I power up the PC, the only illumination on the motherboard comes from the GPU slot, which appears yellow or gold. I’m unsure if this is typical for the board I have. Additionally, there’s no signal showing on the screen, and I’ve tested various display ports without success.

Share an image of your PC's interior to verify all components are properly connected. I'll also include a photo for your reference. Thank you!

The yellow hue seems to come directly from the board itself. I’m wondering if you connected the monitor cable to the Graphiccard or to the motherboard. Another option might be to remove the Graphiccard and try again—your observation about the space between the case and GPU looks unusual.

The display port connects to the graphics card. I repeatedly removed and reinserted the card, and even switched to another graphics card, but the issue persisted.
