Last night my computer suddenly stopped working. I saw the frowny face on the blue screen as usual. It wasn’t a major issue, but I’ve been stuck in a boot loop for almost a day now. Yesterday it didn’t even let me reach the Windows login screen to enter my password. Once it started, it would crash again after about 10 seconds. During those ten seconds I couldn’t do anything.

Today I had a little more time before it crashed once more. There were roughly two minutes left before it stopped working again. After hundreds of restarts, I tried almost everything possible. It still crashed in safe mode, I tested all startup options, changed boot drives and BIOS settings, and even considered factory resetting it. But that didn’t work—I couldn’t reset it properly.

I deleted and reinstalled all the drivers, which took a long time because it kept crashing during installation. It stopped crashing for about four hours. But just as I thought everything was resolved, it returned to the same problem—crashing right after the startup screen, asking me to press del or f2 for BIOS.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Define "crash". It refers to a situation where the system shuts down. Whether it goes to power off state relies on proper power conditions. It would be helpful to remove the power source by using a temporary working unit.

Everything on my screen freezes briefly, then I see a blue screen for about half a second before it restarts. It doesn't shut down completely. All fans continue spinning and the RGB effects stay active. When it starts up, the motherboard LEDs turn on to show it's booting.

The blue screen code refers to the error message displayed on the screen when a computer encounters a critical system failure. Searching for this term may provide solutions or fixes.

Your device encountered an issue and requires a restart. We are gathering some error details before proceeding. This will happen very briefly.
