PC is operational yet no screen appears.
I was attempting to power on my desktop today but received no display output. I replaced every part and cleaned them thoroughly. I observed the white VGA debug light on the motherboard. I assumed a problem with my GPU, but when the PC turned on, the GPU functioned properly (the fans were moving). I tried removing the CMOS battery, yet it didn’t resolve the issue. I require urgent assistance as I spend a long time working through my desktop.
Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. Provide PSU specifications, model, wattage, age, and condition of the original build versus the new setup. Mention disk drive make, model, capacity, and current usage level. Indicate if you detect any consistent beep patterns and whether the speaker functions. Ask about boot behavior into Safe Mode and image display. Inquire if a different working display can be used for testing. Test your current monitor on another functional desktop to assess whether the issue persists with or without the screen.
Thanks for the guideline, it's my first time posting here. I have updated the main post with my specs promptly. Now About your questions.
No there are no beeping or any sort of sound coming out of my pc or speaker. I used my pc just fine the last day and when I wanted to turn on my pc today morning I started facing this issue. I have been using my pc for the last 5 years without any problem(each and every part). When I press the power button my pc turns on as in the CPU,GPU,casing fan rotates and every RGB gets turned on including the GPU. But there's nothing on my monitor. I used a different hdmi cable to connect to a different monitor and the issue persists. Everythings running but there's no display. But the new thing I noticed just today is the VGA debug led light on the motherboard.
I don't have a spare gpu nor an integrated graphics with the CPU to try anything else.
If the PSU is truly the original unit and therefore five years old, it becomes a probable source of the issue.
It might be close to or already past its End of Life (EOL).
This is particularly true if there has been frequent heavy gaming, video editing, or even bit-mining activity.
PSUs deliver three distinct voltages (3, 5, 12) to different system parts.
Thus, some components may receive power while others do not.
Any deviation from the expected voltage can lead to malfunctions.
PSUs are prone to complete or partial failure...
Do you have access to another functioning PSU that could be installed? You might consider borrowing one from a friend or relative.
If possible, replace it with another and ensure only the corresponding cables are used.
Also, as a quick check, try replacing the 128 GB SSD—especially if it’s the boot drive. It may not be directly involved, but 128 GB is now insufficient for most systems.
Are all important data protected by backups?
Hey thanks for your quick response. Yes, the PSU is the original one and I've been using it for five years on my PC. I play games occasionally, but not very intensely. I plan to bring it to a service center to test it with another PSU. Regarding the SSD, it's only used as the boot drive and had 20GB of free space. Unfortunately, my data wasn't backed up.
