I recently upgraded my CPU (alongside the motherboard and PSU). I also have 2 monitors. One of them is connected to the GPU, the other one to the motherboard as it has a different (lower) resolution and refresh rate than my main display. Currently have a i9-9900k and an Asus ROG Strix z790-A Motherboard Ever since the upgrade, whenever I turn on my PC, BOTH monitors initially show the bootup logo then only the monitor connected to the motherboard continues the boot sequence. with my old motherboard, this wasn't the case. not sure if this is an issue or not. All drivers including the bios are installed and updated. It has now recently started detecting a 3rd monitor out of know where with the name of "Generic Monitor PnP Driver" or something along those lines. I don't have a third monitor... it goes away after a restart but so far it has kept coming back eventually. To make matters worse, my monitor connected to the motherboard, now has started showing artifacts and green/purple flickering. Once again it fixed its self after the restart but... idk what is causing it. Lastly, in device manager, "Other devices" have a orange triangle next to them and idk how to fix them. No OC on CPU or GPU. No fancy bios settings like raid. only XMP is enabled and I am using my old ram. everything else is stock. I will update the post if/when the third monitor comes back with a couple of screenshots of it's details in device manager.

Ensure the worse monitor is connected to the main GPU. The current setup handles rendering and sends it to the integrated GPU, which then displays it on the main GPU—so you don’t skip the worse screen for rendering if that was your goal. Regarding the "orange triangle," this usually indicates missing drivers in about 90% of cases or a faulty hardware component (around 10%). Likely the issue lies with chipset or add-on card drivers, especially if your system has PCI-E cards such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or capture devices. Visit the motherboard website to install the appropriate drivers. If problems persist, consider using IObit Driver Booster.

I visited Asus's site and reinstalled the chipset driver. Because it was already there, I chose to delete or fix it. I removed it and then reinstalled again, but nothing changed. All content from the driver section is present except for Asus Armory Crate. Even the firmware and BIOS are up to date. You mentioned installing IOBit, so I recalled that I have CCleaner with a free trial of the paid version, which includes a driver update tool. I tried it and it resolved four issues (the three in the photo were still not recognized). It seems the unknown device was my Logitech webcam. After three attempts, I installed IOBit and it detected the remaining three devices, though the free version only allows one update per day. I decided to pay for it instead of using a subscription service. It fixed the other three devices too. I'm satisfied with the outcome. Iobit also listed three driver updates, as shown in the picture below. I'm unsure if updating them is safe or necessary. What are your thoughts? Should I update them as well? The "monitor" and "system device" currently list Microsoft as the publisher of the existing driver, while the new update from IOBit lists Acer and Western Digital. That makes me hesitant. At least the Device Manager is now working properly. Perhaps those missing or outdated drivers were contributing to problems with the third monitor as well. Now I just have to wait and see if it resolves itself. Thank you very much.

The free IObit driver booster version does not enforce a daily driver update limit; it simply skips installing the newest drivers for certain hardware such as Realtek network cards, opting instead for older versions. Regarding the monitor driver, once you apply the updated driver from IObit, visit the manufacturer’s website and download the most recent driver for your monitor.
