Every time I run a benchmark, my computer goes off and on again. Surprisingly, I can play games like CS:GO, but when I go into my inventory, it shuts down and restarts. Event viewer has nothing to tell me. I rebuilt my PC yesterday. The only thing I changed in the BIOS was enabling XMP with boost 200s. Motherboard - Asus Z890 Apex Maximus CPU - Ultra 285K GPU - Aurous 5090 ICE OC (Updated drivers before this post with DDU) Ram - G.SKILL Trident Z5 DDR5 RAM 48GB 8200MT/s CL40-52-52-131 1.35V (Using XMP with Boost200s) Ran memtest for a couple of hours last night and no errors PSU - be quiet! Dark Power Pro 13 1600W AIO - ASUS ROG RYUJIN III 360 ARGB Extreme M.2 - Crucial T705 (One in M.2 slot, another in the DIMM slot to get 16 lanes for the GPU)
When the PC turns off, does it happen right away like a power cut but then come back on? What happens in Event viewer just before the shutdown? If I had to guess, maybe the power supply unit is broken. Look closely at the 12V 2x6 pin connection on your graphics card and see if it's burning.
Yes, it turns off all on its own then comes back up again. Event Viewer says the system rebooted without actually turning itself off first. This could happen if the computer got stuck, crashed, or ran out of power suddenly. I also tried plugging a different cable into the port and it's still acting wrong. The old one doesn't look melted or broken but I switched it out anyway to test.
I think the power supply might be broken. If you have a good one, try it in your computer. You could get another copy to check. I think the PSU is just bad. BeQuiet has some really good ones, but someone makes a fake one all the time. I'd recommend buying two of that same model if you want to test them out. Can you still give the first one back to the store for money or an exchange?
I own this power supply now and it's been two years. I could buy a new one just like it, but waiting at Amazon will take forever.
I'd get something more common that's also a great 1Kw+ power supply, and I could return it at any store just in case. If we need to file an RMA with Bequiet about your current PSU when the problem is found, that would work too. Something like this if you can use it.
