here is the plan for your PC: you have an Intel Core i7-8700 processor paired with an NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card and a motherboard from Asus X390 TUF Gaming Pro. You are using two sticks of RAM (2x8GB) running at 3000MHz, which is set up as the "Deafult" profile in your BIOS.

your problem starts when you try to run stress tests while this memory profile is active. sometimes the computer crashes just after turning on XMP settings, but it runs fine for browsing and playing games occasionally. however, running any stress test under these conditions always causes a crash. When you switch off XMP (which lowers your RAM speed from 3000MHz to 2133MHz) and lower the voltage, things stop crashing and you get more room for higher speeds like turbo boost.

your CPU temperature is only slightly higher with XMP on compared to when it's off, but as long as it stays below 80 degrees Celsius during full stress tests, that seems normal in my experience. so what should I do?

That wasn't right, so I didn't make a mistake. The problem is actually about updating the BIOS. Please check this out by finding the solution.

That wasn't the right one 😄 I solved this problem, which required a BIOS update! Please try commenting here: Find the Solution. :/
