Hello there. Yesterday I upgraded my PC (actually built a new one, since only a few components were changed – PSU and GPU). While gaming on it, the same issue kept recurring, after about 20 to 30 minutes of play, it would crash. It felt like power was cut off instantly. After a brief pause, everything worked again, but if I disconnect the cable right away, before the LED near the power button goes dark, I can reinsert it and everything functions properly once more. However, if I remove the cable and then reconnect it, the PC doesn’t respond at all, as if the connection had never been made. So far, this has happened only after 20 to 30 minutes of gameplay, and never before.

How old is this PSU?
Your PC stops working when under heavy load? It may shut down due to one of two reasons:
a) Your PC is overheating, or
b) The PSU can't provide enough power for the full system.
You might also face a grounding problem if you need to disconnect and reconnect to the wall.
Psu should be around 6 to 7 years old. I think it has a warranty for 10 years too.
Technically not really, I finished building it late at night yesterday, so I didn’t even try to use it normally yet—I just played games. After the latest crash, I’m checking if it will happen without playing games. Right now I’m trying to see if it still works when I don’t play. But I can tell you now that the crash happened while I was gaming.
I ran some stress tests for about 10 minutes, first separately then together. Everything worked fine—no crashes. But I’m not sure if that means it wasn’t too much for the system. During the tests, the GPU stayed under 75°C and the CPU slowly reached around 86-90°C, which usually doesn’t happen during normal gaming.
I added this update an hour ago, and so far there’s no crash without playing games. So yes, gaming must be causing something.
The led next to the power button serves as a hard drive activity indicator. Make sure your front panel connections to the motherboard are correct. Problems often arise due to heat problems. Check that your fan speed settings in the BIOS adjust properly. For testing, remove the case side cover and observe if the issue continues.
Thermal shutdown detected. Reinstall CPU cooler and reapply thermal paste. This is 2133mhz rated RAM—are you overclocking it to 3200mhz? Be aware this may cause instability. I believed it had 3200 ram, but I mistakenly selected the wrong ones. Actually, I use an xmp profile in the bios to achieve 3200.
To turn off without unplugging the cords, press and hold the PWR button for about 5 seconds.
Your issue might involve incorrect RAM.
Slot #2 displays a 16gb part number.
The RAM should match for correct functioning.
I suspect you purchased two 16gb sticks with the same number but not a complete set.
Check your RAM
Run
memtest86.
It doesn’t require Windows.
If it completes a full test without errors, you’re probably fine.
For certainty, repeat the process a few more times.
