I'm using a 12900k hero 690 board with Corsair 32GB 5600 DDR5 and a Strix 3080. While playing Cold War Zombies, my PC stopped working suddenly. It won't boot unless I detach one of three PCIe cables—then it starts but the GPU power light turns red whenever I reconnect everything. The PSU clicks when it powers on, but nothing else happens. Please help!

Start the system without connecting the GPU, and link a single monitor to the motherboard. Additionally, could you share the power supply manufacturer and model details?

You have a top-tier power supply capable of handling at least 1000 watts.

I have a comparable setup but with a 3090 model; I'm using an 850-watt Gold unit. That's sufficient as long as the PSU meets at least 850 watts.

Yes, likely, though a solid PSU matters more than just power. All the details suggest focusing on quality.

Consider using a different PCI Express cable if needed. The graphics card may have a damaged output port or the device could be completely failed.

Consider testing the GPU on a different machine. This helps determine whether you need to swap out the power supply, GPU, or motherboard.
