Hey everyone, I've noticed my computer has been acting strangely over the past few weeks. It's been quite different from how it used to work. I haven't experienced these problems before, and now they're really annoying. I'm seeing frequent BSODs almost every day. Sometimes I open the command prompt and run sfc /scannow, which seems to help with some issues. However, other problems still occur, like games freezing, Discord lagging, browser crashes, and Obs not starting properly. Recently, I switched from Chrome to Firefox thinking my RAM was being used up, but it didn't make a big difference. It looks like something beyond just memory usage might be causing these crashes. If you have any tips or info, please share. I'm hoping my hardware is still in good shape. Thanks for reading!

Make sure you review your crash logs. Google can assist in locating them. When did you last perform a cleanup on your PC? Such as removing dust and debris?

Recent bios updates available. New chipset drivers from AMD, excluding Asrock versions.

These remarks often surprise me. Could you clarify how you arrived at this conclusion? It's advised not to modify your BIOS unless it includes a significant update or enables compatibility with a newer processor. Your system has functioned effectively over the past two years. The user didn't specify any additional hardware changes. There seems to be no justification for updating the BIOS to address the problems you've described.

This idea is quite old-fashioned.

Companies produce bios to resolve hardware problems. With the move to UEFI and chip-level solutions, AMD and Intel provide microcode patches. Updates from A.g.e.s.a. help fix bugs, slowdowns, crashes, etc. Those who warn against flashing bios or updating drivers are often uninformed or misinformed, lacking proper expertise. @ChonkerFox I share this view.

This seems really challenging to tackle. Let me check the available outlets and see if I can find a better connection... That kind of issue. Trying various cables might help. Could the problem be connected to temperature? It’s possible you already had the hardware installed a while back. If it’s related to memory, that would be unusual. What are the specifications you’re using? If you suspect RAM is the issue, that would be unexpected. On my previous setup, I used 8GB DDR3 on Windows 10 without any issues.

Assess your drive conditions and execute memtest86 during sleep. This may indicate file damage. A deteriorating disk or defective RAM are likely causes. A software glitch could also be involved. Windows performs background updates. If the process isn’t too burdensome, consider a full system reinstall as a last resort for software problems.

It seems you're only concerned if there are problems or if new features are needed. Does the person have any issues? *checks* Yes, updating the BIOS chipset is often recommended (you can't go wrong). Spoiler: Windows updates are frequent, and sometimes drivers or BIOS need adjusting. It's not rocket science, right?

Budget DIY started some time last year. I intend to clean here soon when I have the opportunity. @Djuntas usually manages around 55-65c while playing and using other programs. Living in a hot area makes this feel much better than before I made this. My specs are listed on my profile @191x7; I haven’t worked on this in a while, so I’ll check AMD’s site now. Would this page cover chipset drivers? How do I verify if my BIOS is current? I’m checking ASRock’s site for the newest BIOS for my model, but it seems elusive.
