Hi, thank you for reaching out. I recently completed a new setup. I purchased a 240 GB Kingston Sata SSD for my operating system drive, along with three other drives, an M.2 for gaming, and two HDDs. Everything functioned properly for a day, but recently when trying to boot the PC, it experienced multiple restarts followed by a failure to start. The sequence of events was: I tried turning on the PC, it powered up and reset several times, then accessed BIOS and reset again. When entering safe mode, it reset itself and attempted to restart, but stuck in the motherboard logo and couldn't reach BIOS or Windows. Pressing F2 or deleting didn’t help. After some testing, I removed the SATA connection from the SSD and was able to boot into BIOS. Could you explain why connecting the SSD might cause this issue? Here’s what I attempted: replaced cables, updated ports, used original power supply.

I don't have a motherboard, but I can help you find information about it if you tell me your system requirements or what you're building.

On page vi of your motherboard manual, it mentions that M.2_2 Socket 3 with populated SATA 5 and 6 ports are turned off. Some systems seem to act oddly when drives connect to these disabled ports, rather than simply blocking them.

I knew about that, but the M.2 was in the top slot—it didn’t impact the SATA connections. It functioned at first, then stopped working entirely the next day. Would the SSD itself be the problem?

The most likely cause seems to be a problem with the power delivery from your supply. It's hard to pinpoint another issue without more details.

I checked the SSD on another computer and was able to boot into BIOS. But the BIOS doesn't recognize this SSD. It looks like it's not working properly.
