PC generates a rattling noise
Yeah, I did exactly that 30 minutes ago and it definitely is the bearing. I tried getting to the PCB of the fan to relube it but there's no hole to, it has a hard plastic cover. So my only option is to replace the fan, I just don't really know what fan to buy for this PSU.
Another update, sorry for the spam. Ordered the Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2, only thing is: it has a 4pin or 3pin connector and the connector on the PCB of the PSU is only a 2pin connector. All the cables on the Be Quiet Fan are black so I will have to figure out which one the black pin is and which one the red pin is.
Great decision. It’s likely you can determine the wiring by visualizing it or testing it on a DC fan connector. If unsure, the PCB should indicate the pinout. Feel free to share your progress!
In short, my PC is functioning properly again without any unusual noises. I installed the new fan and swapped out the old one. I only changed the connection to the motherboard header instead of the PSU PCB header, and everything is working smoothly now. Thanks to all the support! Enjoy the new year!
It’s great you got it working, but avoid connecting the fan directly to a motherboard header. If your power supply overheats, the fan won’t adjust its speed. The fan can’t detect the PSU’s temperature and won’t increase airflow when needed. You might need to identify which cables handle DC power and change the connector to match the original PSU header. Wishing you a happy new year!
