Hey everyone, I just got my PC built and noticed my games are stuttering. I usually hit around 170fps in Rainbow Six Siege, but after about 5 to 10 seconds it drops and keeps going down. My system specs are pretty solid: RTX 4080, Super AMD 7800X3D, 32GB RAM, 6000MHz CL30, 850W PSU.

Task Manager indicates the stuttering by showing resource usage details. It does not typically report suspiciously low CPU or GPU usage during such events; instead, it highlights high utilization that may correlate with the issue.

It depends on the situation. When gaming, performance varies based on settings and hardware. Running benchmarking tools can cause noticeable lag under light usage, such as streaming a YouTube video.

Your Task Manager shows a RAM speed of 4800MHz while it should be 6000MHz. XMP is enabled, but the discrepancy might be due to other settings or hardware limitations.

Verify your BIOS settings and confirm the RAM specifications match 6000MT/s. To address stuttering, reinstall GPU drivers via GeForce Experience (use Game Ready drivers) and look for updates through Windows Update. Review your power plan in Windows Settings and the Power Plan section in Control Panel.

I successfully increased my RAM usage to 6000mts by disabling and then re-enabling the XMP profile. I also reinstalled my GPU drivers. I observed that changing the power plan from "power saver" to "balanced" likely improved performance. The R6 and RDR2 games now run much smoother. If the problem recurs, I’ll post another update. My in-game temperatures are normal. Uncertain what worked, but thanks!

Choose the High Performance power plan. You can also create a custom power plan, which I do on Windows 10.

The stuttering has begun once more. I’ve done some bench marking in a few matches—was the 0.1% really accurate? I’m not sure what’s happening.
