Assetto Corsa with mods delivers incredible performance, the dedicated racing fans praise it as the top game right now, and many believe it will become the leading force in car modding. Rfactor 2 is challenging to mod, but the community remains strong. Project Cars offers a solid experience despite limited mod support. Grid Series provides decent fun with a modest mod scene, while NFS Shift & Shift 2 has seen great games before it was popular.

I'm focusing on altering the vehicles within the game, from custom paint designs to body kits, rims, engine tweaks, and chassis changes. Race 07 is quite old, and modifying it isn't always as simple as some assume, which is why I don't consider it a direct replacement for Forza.

You can still add extra paint details even with the current game's numerous paint options. Body kits are expected in the upcoming update for Assetto Corsair, while the existing standard, performance, and DTM editions remain available. Modifying the powertrain and chassis is possible—there are many settings to adjust, making it a complex but rewarding experience. It can be overwhelming due to the sheer number of numbers involved.

The best part of Forza is personalizing vehicles and fine-tuning them—I enjoy serious gameplay, and the campaign stands out as one of the most engaging aspects.

I haven’t played AC because I don’t want to settle for incomplete matches to stay safe. Still, I didn’t know the full potential of AC—if it lives up to your claims and you can actually play all the features, then it’s great. But since the games aren’t ready yet, my previous thoughts remain valid.

It was the first game I ever created, still lacking features like carrier systems or detailed stats tracking. However, the multiplayer aspect and active community have really boosted its popularity. I wouldn’t consider playing it without that support. For instance, RFactor was a major PC racing title; when modders joined, AC received beta versions and SDK assistance. After some time researching, I realized it’s a solid investment even though the game isn’t complete. The modding scene is thriving, with creators earning a living from custom content—some tracks and cars cost money. It’s both amusing and intriguing. Also, one of the top mod artists recognized me on the forum, which was great.

For a fresh take on racing, consider Arcade Go alongside Trackmania Stadium 2—both offer unique vibes. Assetto Corsa for Sim delivers a different experience, while Project CARS is a promising option. Simpler alternatives include something like Something Close.

It's a pity GT wasn't released for PC, as it would have completely changed the racing simulation scene. Look forward to Project Cars and trust they will match the precision and quality Yamauchi and Polyphony aimed for in the GT lineup.

I don't believe any racing title for PC matches the vibe of Forza, which is why I own both an Xbox and a gaming PC for exclusive experiences. I hope M$ and Turn 10 introduce Forza to PC, similar to how Gears of War and Halo found their way there. The closest option seems to be the new GRID Autosport game.
