I have a 1 gigabit connection via Google Fiber, yet I’m encountering an 8 down issue. When trying to reach blocked websites, it appears I’m routing through a VPN. I’ve reviewed my running processes and haven’t found anything suspicious, but it’s possible something else is interfering. My computer is connected directly to the Google Fiber modem.

You ran another speed test and everything seemed accurate, yet websites still felt like they were connected through a VPN. The test even showed you're in California, which doesn't match your location. It's perplexing—private internet should know your real position. What's going on?

Tests only show the area your internet service provider recorded the IP for, usually far from where you actually are. Have you checked a traceroute to those sites claiming you're using a VPN to track the path of data?
