PC frequently stops unexpectedly before resuming.
Initially the pc would power off and turn back on mainly during gaming, leading me to suspect a temperature issue. Nowadays it occurs even during light activities such as playing League of Legends with limited FPS or while watching YouTube videos. I recently added five new case fans to ensure proper cooling, yet the problem continues. The event viewer displays event ID 41 each time. A memory diagnostic test was run again and returned clean, but the pc restarted three times afterward, suggesting a potential RAM issue. My system is less than a year old overall, including the RAM. Specifically, my configuration was:
i5 7400 -> Ryzen 7 5800X (after upgrade)
RX 580 8GB
16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz -> G.Skill RipjawsV 16GB DDR4-3200MHz (after upgrade)
BEQUIET PSU SYSTEM POWER 9 700W Bronze
H110m MB -> B550m Steel Legend (after upgrade)
Hey there,
This situation points to a PSU issue. Error 41 indicates the power supply to the system was interrupted. You might try using another PSU, perhaps borrowed from a friend, or take it to a repair shop for replacement and testing. Alternatively, you could purchase a new one.
Hi, thanks for the response.
I ordered a PSU as I've been meaning to upgrade anyway, however, I noticed that after another one of these restarts the event viewer showed no new events. Could that mean there's more to it than just the PSU?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, you performed a fresh installation of the operating system after switching from Intel to AMD.
To clarify, I have not upgraded yet, I am just waiting on the PSU and noticed weird behavior from the pc in the meantime.
