PC Frequently Crashes During Events 41-Kernel Power and 1001BugCheck
My computer is experiencing crashes while playing games. The whole system powers off and restarts, displaying event 41. In the event viewer it shows Kernel Power with the message "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." Occasionally the screen cuts out, showing a "no signal" message, though game audio remains audible. It then restarts and shows Event 1001, followed by Bugcheck stating "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck." The specific bug ID is 0x00000133 with details saved in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. I’m not performing any overclocking, and the machine maintains a stable temperature. My setup includes an Intel Core i7-13700K processor, a 3.4 GHz 16-core CPU, Thermalright cooler, Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX ATX motherboard, G.Skill Ripjaws S5 with 2x 16 GB DDR5-6000 RAM, Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 NVMe SSD, and a Corsair RM850x 12 GB video card on an OC power supply running Windows 10.
It might stem from a bad PSU, a misbehaving power outlet, or even a faulty NVIDIA driver. In some instances, it could be something as simple as a reset after aggressive boot cycles—like when Windows forced a reinstall after too many failed attempts. Once the latest drivers were applied, the issue disappeared. That’s my take—thanks!
