Hey! I recently upgraded from 9th to 13th generation, which means a completely new chipset board is needed. I swapped out my i7-9700k and Z-370-a Pro for an i5-13600k and a B760-P DDR4 motherboard. After making these changes and replacing the original CPU cooler, everything seemed fine for a short while—about a week or two. But during gameplay or idle moments, I’d experience sudden freezing (heard it in my headphones) and the system would lock up completely. I couldn’t use alt-tab, open Task Manager, or move the mouse. Eventually, I had to hard reset the system, which happened multiple times while doing normal tasks. This has never occurred on my old setup, though the CPU might be different. If anyone has suggestions or solutions, it would be really helpful! Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
32GB 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400MHz | 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2133MHz
If this isn't a mistake, you may need to swap both RAM sticks and opt for a model capable of handling 3600MHz.
Corsair H60x single fan 120mm
You might want to think about a 240mm AIO at the very least; a 120mm unit won’t help with temperature control.
Recently, I upgraded from the 9th generation to the 13th, which means a new chipset board is necessary. I’ve swapped my i7-9700k and Z-370-a Pro for an i5-13600k and a B760-P DDR4 motherboard.
Have you reinstalled the OS?

Hi! I haven't experienced any issues where upgrading RAM caused my PC to freeze due to slow speeds.
I've seen a big difference in temperatures—starting at 45-50°C idle with nothing running.
Before, I used an i3-8100 as the main CPU and never changed the board, since the 8th and 9th gen chipsets were essentially the same.
Would reinstalling the OS be necessary when switching boards?

Combining memories often leads to various strange problems, which is exactly what
@Lutfij was discussing.

back up all your games and other data to another drive, then perform a full Windows reset. Changing the motherboards may cause the OS to search for non-existent chipset drivers.
system> recovery> reset this pc and select delete all files. This will reinstall Windows from scratch.
also as @Lutfij mentioned, mixing memory is problematic, particularly if timing differences occur, which can lead to issues.
