My computer has been freezing repeatedly over the last few weeks, sometimes showing bluescreening. I haven’t played much lately, so it usually happens while idle or when browsing. Most of the time I have to press the power button to shut it down. I don’t notice any changes yet, which makes it hard to figure out what’s causing it.

BSOD stop code: DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION
Bug check code 113

MiniDump files are being checked (I’m not fully understanding them, just trying to grasp the meaning). The filenames vary a lot—sometimes it’s ntoskrnl.exe, other times it’s NVDispl, Discord, System, Chrome, etc.

What I’ve tried so far:
- Cleaned up DDU and updated GPU drivers
- Ran Windows updates
- Updated network drivers
- Performed a memory diagnostic with Windows tools
- Ran Memtest86 on each drive (only one pass per stick, about 30 minutes)
- Updated BIOS

I’m open to reformatting as a last option and also consider updating to Windows 11 if it’s worth it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know what else I can provide.

It appears the system frequently freezes or shows blue screens when idle. I can use my PC to watch YouTube videos for two hours without issues, pause the video, make a coffee (about ten minutes), and then return only to find it frozen again. This seems to be happening more often than before.
