Hello everyone. Before I begin, here are my details.
AMD Ryzen 5 7600
MSI Ventus RTX 4060
Noctua air cooler
Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36
MSI B650 gaming plus Wi-Fi AM5 motherboard
Samsung 870 1TB SSD
I’ve been playing Rainbow 6 for the past two weeks and before the update two days ago, I was consistently achieving about 200fps in games and around 100 in the lobby without any lag or freezing.
After the update, when I would boot up R6, I would experience freezing for about 20 minutes. If I wasn’t frozen, I’d see 100fps during games and roughly 60-80 in the lobby. Now, every time I start R6, my fans would get very loud and I’d receive a notification from Norton warning me that my CPU was being overused—this is strange since I have everything set up to fully utilize my GPU.
I’ve upgraded my GPU to the latest driver without any noticeable improvement, and I’ve also tried reverting to the old driver using DDU, but still no results.
Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’m really hoping to just perform a factory reset so I can start fresh.

It might be an issue with the game itself. Consider trying to uninstall Norton.

Yes, the CPU issue caused a glitch, so I removed Norton. I’m concerned about my FPS dropping after updating the GPU driver to 572.70 and staying the same when reverting to the previous driver. It’s worth checking if the FPS drop is normal or if I need to reinstall R6 to investigate further.
