Hello there! I noticed you've recently upgraded several components to Ryzen 7 5700X, RX 6800 and Tuf gaming B550-pro. You're running Windows 10 with 32GB RAM (3500MHz), one SSD and one M.2 drive. Your temperatures stay within normal range, and all drivers seem up to date. However, after 1-3 hours of gaming or playback, your PC freezes. The game window still displays, but you can't move the cursor or tab anywhere. You've tried restarting and checked stress tools like membrand and prime95 without issues. I suspect the problem might be with the SSD or M.2 drive. If you haven't forgotten anything, feel free to ask!

Your previous setup used Intel or Ryzen processors with the same motherboard brand. Did you perform a clean installation or simply moved the SSD/M.2 drive that already had the operating system? Were you removing the existing drivers and adding the new ones?

the previous system used a Ryzen processor too; my old CPU was a Ryzen 5 2600x and it ran on an ASUS Prime Pro 470x board. I performed a complete reset when I upgraded the components.

You might consider a second clean setup just in case something failed, though that seems unlikely to fix the problem. The stress tests suggest it’s not primarily a power issue, as you’d expect freezes during testing. Have you checked updating all your drivers and BIOS? It could help.

Ugh, considering you had to rebuild the system, have you checked if any components were reseated? Also, since the video freezes but audio works, did you try plugging in the monitors again when it happens? Do you have a backup GPU available to test and see if the problem is with that one?

I haven’t swapped any components, maybe worth a try, and I didn’t plug the cable back into the monitor. Unfortunately, I don’t have any extra parts left, so I gave them away to those who needed an upgrade.

The freeze occurred after about 2-3 hours. I tried disconnecting the monitor, but nothing changed: Spotify kept playing and switching songs, yet I lost connection to Discord. It’s a bit strange.

I switched to the Ryzen 7 5700x in December and began experiencing freezes. Even with standard RAM and fresh drivers, it seems the CPU might be the issue.
