It seems the USB drive might have been the cause. Removing it didn’t resolve the issue, and now the computer fails to reach the boot stage. The problem occurs during the mid-POST phase, right after the motherboard’s DRAM indicator stops working and before the VGA light activates.
They don’t have a dedicated manufacturer driver. Their products mainly include webcams and SD card readers. From the list, they frequently resell components to other brands to change branding. The Microdia driver isn’t referenced in the stack (a brief note from the crash dump). It seems unlikely to be the problem since it appeared only at the time of the crash and could be a contributing factor. USB preventing POST is unusual. Ignoring the blackbox data suggests the issue might relate to RAM or general crashes rather than the PNP recording. If you skip the blackbox, it looks more like RAM from the stack and typical crashes. I’d try resetting the CMOS by removing and reinserting the battery. If that doesn’t work, test one RAM stick at a time—preferably the second slot if only two are available.
I've identified the issue. It's a faulty CPU. This has been the worst Intel CPU I've encountered in 20 years of IT work. I found another LGA 1700 machine and tried swapping the CPU and heatsink. My system started up with theirs, but not with mine. After swapping back, the problem returned. Once you rule out the impossible, what's left must be true.
