This situation is really confusing. I tried to organize everything clearly. The system runs perfectly with the Asrock B660M-ITX and the GTX560 GPU, but the graphics card seems problematic. It only shows up because the main GPU isn’t functioning properly. I purchased an RX 6700 as a more affordable option in Australia, around $450. After installing it, Windows 11 worked without issues. However, soon after, I encountered GPU errors and audio problems over HDMI. I reported the card as defective and received an RMA, but even then it wouldn’t boot. I brought it to a local repair shop, who suggested several fixes—swapping the GPU, changing the PSU, updating BIOS, resetting the system—but none of these resolved the issue. The new GTX560 works fine with the same PSU and draws less than 600W. It’s puzzling why a working GPU wouldn’t fit into a working PC. I’m looking for guidance without relying on assumptions about the situation.

Based on the diagnostics, the board doesn't seem to be recognized as a standard operational unit.

The board functions properly with another PX, please let me know if that wasn't obvious.

Did you connect the GPU power cables?

are you connecting via a pcie extender? did you update the pcie version in the bios? my system had a 6800 on a b550 which didn’t work—though an older GPU functioned correctly. it required using an older GPU to switch to gen 3, but this was connected through a pcie extender that only supported gen 3. however, the previous GPU worked fine when set to auto-gen?

Remove the battery from the motherboard and press the power button until the board lights up. Release the button once the flash appears, reinsert the battery, and attempt a restart. If it works, navigate directly to BIOS, turn off fast boot, enable PCI e, use the highest available version, not auto mode, PTT active, save changes and check for a Windows reboot. Windows 11 often has lingering bugs that could cause issues like CSM/TMPT/PTT problems. Ensure no phones, USB drives, or external devices are connected during boot, and make sure the monitor is on before trying. If problems persist, dismantle the board and test with a basic setup on wood or cardboard to see if it boots.

older hardware isn't as efficient and tends to use more power. You'd be amazed how much electricity three 8800 ultras use while being incredibly slow ok but it does not work with a newer gpu which its supposed to work with. A partially working board , isn't a "known working" board. if the variable here is board compatibility then it's reasonable to assume the board has a compatibility issue.

Thank you for your feedback. The B660 chipset isn't particularly uncommon, and it's reasonable to think a typical Intel motherboard would work well with a modern GPU.
