He PC he uses is a recent model with an i5 processor and dual-channel RAM setup. The issue appears only when using specific slots like B1/B2, not other configurations. Even the same RAM sticks didn't resolve the problem. Possible causes could be driver issues, BIOS settings, or hardware compatibility problems. Check for updates, test different slots, and verify BIOS version.

Typically A2 B2 offers the best two DIMM setup, covering the main memory controller slots. These are often found in positions 2 and 4 compared to the CPU socket. Near the DIMM ports on the motherboard, you'll see silk screening around the slots, as seen on the B760 Asus Strix-F model.

It might be a motherboard issue. Are there any visible obstructions near the dimmer?

Mine experienced odd problems after the BIOS update. Four sticks were built up by two kits, but post-update dimming occurred for kit 1 and 2, while kits 3 and 4 seemed to run faster. It looks like the slowest kit might be the one affected. I think the BIOS version could be the cause.
