PC fails to start using both channels simultaneously.
Hi, I received my new PC. It has a 2x16 GB DDR5 6ghz setup. The issue is that it only boots with the first and second slots. When I swap the RAM to the second and fourth slots, the system freezes with no display, and the motherboard's DRAM LEDs show a yellow light. I've tried reinstalling the processor and testing various slots, but the RAM only supports up to 3.6ghz. I checked the motherboard specifications on the MBS site, and it confirms compatibility. My motherboard model is an Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming.
Assuming that this is a B650 Chipset, this is an AM5 CPU which is Zen 4. 6000MHz can be a mixed bag for them and theyre happier at 5600MHz, but id love to know which specific 7000 series CPU and RAM kit model is this as X3D and standard 7000 series AMD can be very different kind of freaky about it.
Hello! Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Memory: Kingston Fury Beast 2x16GB RGB 6000Mhz KF560C40BBAK2-32
I've already attempted it. 1 and 2 are the only options. I also cleaned it up.
Yes, I own the same CPU but with Corsair Dominator 4x16GB 5600 Mhz. My PC only boots in dual channel (slots 2 and 4), but it fails when I insert RAM in slots 1 and 3. I've tried single-channel setups too, but the issue persists in slots 1 and 3. I'm wondering if a solution exists and if anyone has similar experiences? I'm thinking about returning the motherboard via RMA since the RAM seems fine.
