I'm new to assembling PCs. I followed the manuals for motherboard and case to ensure everything fits. Once I powered on the machine, the CPU indicator blinked briefly before turning off, then the DRAM light stayed lit. I tried swapping RAM slots and using different sticks, but nothing changed. I suspect the issue isn't with the CPU itself—it's a brand new one I bought about five months ago. No bent pins were found. The specs are: motherboard B450 AORUS M, GPU GTX 550, CPU Ryzen 5 5600X (with stock cooler), 32GB RAM (16x2), HDD storage, power supply AG2650W. I haven't opened it yet and haven't reset the CMOS either. Can anyone explain why this happens?
It seems the CPU might not be recognized by the BIOS, which could lead to problems. Have you checked if the BIOS version supports Ryzen 5000 processors? Also, could you share the specific memory kit you're using?
I didn't expect a bios update since I purchased this board knowing it was compatible with the CPU. I got it about three months ago, brand new. My notes say: T-force DDR4 32GB RAM (16x2). I plan to check the BIOS tomorrow and see if that resolves the issue.
