PC fails to start following thermal paste adjustment.
I chose to replace the thermal paste on both the GPU and CPU. Once I removed the CPU fan, the backplate fell off, and I assumed it was hidden behind the motherboard rather than on the opposite side of the case. I unplugged all cables and discovered I needed to open the other side. After reconnecting everything and reattaching the fan—though it had a poor design with the backplate and cooler stuck to the CPU—I didn’t get a boot. The PSU is fine, but the rest failed. No fans are spinning, the GPU isn’t turning on. I’m unsure what to do next. It might have been a mismatched cable or socket. I double-checked the motherboard manual for the front panel connectors.
