I tried to upgrade my computer by installing a new CPU and cooler, but it didn’t boot. After checking, I realized I needed to update the BIOS, so I swapped in the old CPU with the new one, but it still wouldn’t start. Now the fans are spinning but there’s no display. Could someone assist me?
Here are the details:
Motherboard: ASUS Prime H410M-D
Old CPU: Intel Core I3 10100F
New CPU: Intel Core i5 10600K
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
RAM: Crucial 2*16 DDR4 kit

Please verify if there are any bent or broken pins on the CPU socket. Clear the CMOS by disconnecting from the wall and display, then remove the CMOS battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, and after 30 minutes replace the battery.
You didn't mention your PSU's make and model, its age, or what you're using to cool the new processor.
Thank you for your quick response, but I discovered an issue after swapping a RAM stick. It booted up with the second one, so I replaced it and everything worked properly. I’m not sure why this happened, but it seems to be resolved. The new CPU also functions without needing a BIOS update.
