PC fails to start following component upgrades?
Hello, I recently started modifying some components in my PC. I installed a new 7600x, motherboard, and RAM. Initially, I expected a brief display of error lights, but after returning the RAM, those lights disappeared. Now I’m seeing a VGA indicator. I removed the GPU and tested it on another machine, which functioned perfectly. I also tried another GPU in my system, but that didn’t work either.
I reset the CMOS and attempted to boot with just one RAM stick. Inside the case, it powers off after a short time. I’ve also tested it outside the case, where it didn’t power off at all but wouldn’t start.
I recall that I might have connected the wrong power cable to my PSU, as the one for the monitor is very similar. I also made sure the DP was properly connected to the GPU and everything was secured tightly. All RGB lights came on and the fans started up. The GPU fans did too. I’m still confused about the problem and would appreciate any advice.
MOD EDIT:
I also thought it might be that the system powers off after a minute because I removed the AIO when handling internal components. I tried booting without an SSD, which was from my previous setup, but that didn’t work either. Could it be that I installed the motherboard incorrectly or that the PSU is faulty? All parts seem compatible. My PC has a 7600x and a Gigabyte B650M AORUS Elite Ax. The RAM supports 6000MHz and Expo standards.
Identify the brand and model of the PSU. Test the GPU by removing it and using igpu.
Are you attempting to power up the PC without using a cooler for the CPU?
I didn't realize I could at least power it on and then check for the temperature alert.
