PC fails to start despite installing Zotac 3090 Trinity.
I assembled a new PC yesterday (details available below for specs and export from System Information). Everything functioned well at first, including the Zotac 3090 powering the display. My son used it briefly, ran some programs, then powered it down to install updates and shut down. In the morning he tried turning it on again, but it wouldn’t boot. The motherboard didn’t light up, the fan failed to start, and the monitor stayed black. We repositioned RAM, cards, and cables, checked all connections—nothing seemed faulty. We discovered the PC boots fine without the GPU (we can drive from integrated graphics) but not at all when the GPU is installed. I placed the 3090 in slot PC1_E1 on a PXIe 5.0 x16 card (link provided), but also tried other PCIe slots as advised by the store to rule out a defective PC1_E1. I reset the BIOS by re-seating the CMOS battery and restoring defaults via the BIOS menu. Using DDU (link) helped uninstall graphics drivers. After removing the 3090 before these steps, reinstalling it caused the PC to fail to boot. I also installed an ASUS TUF RTX 2060 GC in the new slot; it worked and the system booted normally. I added a Zotac 3090 Trinity to an older PC (Asus Prime X570-P), which also didn’t boot without it. Someone has any advice on troubleshooting? From what we’ve seen, the Zotac seems central to the issue—consistent across two machines that both function perfectly without it. Did the fact that the Zotac worked briefly suggest a temporary fix? Would a Windows Update likely trigger total failure when the Zotac is present? Are there specific actions I should try next? Thanks a lot, Kenn.
Was die 3090 mit einem anderen PSU im älteren PC getestet? Wenn ja, ist sie wahrscheinlich defekt.
