welp guys im once again lost
today all was fine was playing and having fun. then my pc randomly shuts off and wont fully turn back on. it spins up all the fans and lights come on for about 5 sec then shut off with a loud click. at first i suspected faulty psu because it was my only part that wasnt broken but i swapped it and still nothing. i have a red light on my mobo and thats it

msi z790 tomahawk wifi ddr4
intel i5 13600k
corsair vengance 32 gb (2x16)
corsair rm850x
nvida rtx 4070

Check the original PSU model or part number, its age, and whether it was purchased new, used, or refurbished. Try this:
* Remove your RTX 4070 entirely.
* Connect the monitor to MoBo.
* See if you can capture an image.

I updated both PSUs in an old PC and they both worked with full boot. I'll try the rest later.

When changing modular PSUs, also update all associated cables. Using incorrect cables can likely damage your equipment.

the first psu wasn't modular, but the second one is. both functioned in a second pc. removing the gpu with red light still on the motherboard didn't help them boot. they're returning soon to replace the mobo and cpu within a few hours.

Consider adding RAM as well, because these three components are essential for running the PC.

the red light on my mobo indicates it's either a missing cpu or a cpu fault, so i don't think it's related to the ram.
