PC fails to start and behaves oddly
Hi guys!
My PC behaves oddly lately. One day it shuts down properly, the next it powers off instantly. Then after a few seconds it restarts itself automatically, taking about three seconds, and then it keeps restarting without booting up. It just shows a message asking to enter setup to recover BIOS after setting up Intel ® optane memory or changing RAID configuration. You need to press F1 to run the setup.
Since then, every time I start it, it acts like this. When I go into BIOS, it’s not in RAID mode—it’s in AHCP mode, even though I have both an SSD and a HDD. I can’t exit BIOS, and it keeps loading again.
SSD and HDD are detected, but when I try to access the boot menu it says there’s no bootable device. I’ve tried removing memory one by one, but nothing changes. I’ve also removed drives, GPU, and changed the CMOS battery, but the issue persists. I’m using a 5-year-old build from Asus ROG Strix Z-390 F-Gaming with Intel i5-9600kf processor, 2x8 GB HyperX memory, Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB, Corsair 750W PSU, Samsung 250 GB SSD and a 2 TB HDD.
Any advice?
Hello there, new member! Did you forget to specify the make and model of your PSU? Is it five years old? Your Asus ROG Strix Z-390 F-Gaming MB is it? Check your BIOS version on the motherboard. If you can access BIOS, look for any pending updates. Updating will reset CMOS, and you'll want to confirm if the problem remains after that.
PSU: Corsair 750W TX750M
Yes, it's 5 years old. I've updated the BIOS, but the problem continues.
