I recently purchased a TUF Gaming B550m-plus motherboard from ASUS and added several components to assemble a new PC. After installing Windows and installing some applications, everything functioned well initially. I didn’t anticipate any problems until I entered the BIOS and enabled DOCP settings. Upon saving and exiting, my PC would power off a few times, prompting me to press F1 to reset it. When I turned off DOCP and let the RAM run at its default 2400MHz, the system booted normally without issues. I recently tested this RAM on an older build using Memtest and running it for several days, confirming it was stable. The exact model is Teamgroup TUF Gaming RAM, 16GBx2, rated for 3200MHz. Its serial number is TLTYD432G3200HC16FDC01. My CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600X, so I assumed it would handle the DOCP RAM at 3200MHz without trouble. One point to consider: I adjusted the frequency down to 2933MHz on my older board because that model’s optimal speed is around that level. If you’re unsure about your current setup, you might want to keep BIOS settings unchanged unless you’re certain about stability.

I faced a similar issue when attempting to upgrade my 2x8GB to 4x8GB PC. The maximum speed it could handle was around 3200MHz, but lowering it to 3000MHz resolved the problem. You might want to check if that adjustment helped.

I also heard that a small boost in voltage might help, as ASUS tends to keep RAM voltages very low. I only raised them from 1.35 to 1.375, but it still wouldn’t boot properly. I’m considering giving it another shot to check if it works.

Adjust the timing and voltage by hand, test performance at rated speed. If issues arise, lower to 3000 and retry. DOCP settings may not be optimal. Ensure your BIOS is current.

I also use an ASUS motherboard with higher voltage settings, which isn’t something I’m familiar with. I’m currently experiencing a loss of 200MHz.

I've already checked Cjz's suggestions and they didn't help. Now I'm planning to update the BIOS and experiment with different settings. Do you have any guidance on suitable voltages and timing options? I tend to avoid risky changes because of past experiences, so I'd like to stay within safer parameters.

Review the DOCP guidelines for RAM specifications. Add a small buffer of 0.05v to the capacity. Adjust timings slightly—consider options like 16-18-18-36, 18-18-18-36, or 18-22-22-42 if needed.

DOCP and XMP are overclock configurations and don’t ensure results. I usually run my RAM at 3200MHz with a 5600X processor without problems. The Ryzen 5000 chips support 3200MHz DDR4 RAM out of the box, and most handle up to 4000 MHz—though that’s an overclock. If your RAM is new, consider returning it or swapping for a fresh unit while you can. DOCP isn’t a fixed speed, but you’ve invested in it and should get the most out of it.

I successfully connected to the PC with DOCP activated and the speed was lowered to 2933mhz. I think adding a bit more voltage, adjusting timing, or even updating the BIOS could help recover the remaining a few hundred mhz. Right now the system runs smoothly at that frequency. I’ll continue testing and browsing to check for any issues. Thanks for all the guidance!

The manual I followed suggested the optimal configuration for a two-stick setup is A2 and B2. It would be wise to consult your motherboard manufacturer's documentation. After swapping the memory modules into the correct slots, the DOCP functioned properly!
