I had to relocate the CPU from my main rig into a new build I'm constructing to refresh the BIOS. The processor on the other system wasn't installed there. After reinstalling it, it fails to boot. The motherboard displays an error light, and I hear what appears to be several long beeps. It seems those are longer than usual. The fans are running at half speed. No real hardware change has taken place—it's just a re-seat. I've tried reseating the RAM (three short beeps on an AMI BIOS indicate a memory issue), but it didn't resolve the problem, and the CPU light remains active. Could it be that I need to flash the BIOS on this machine? Or am I completely out of options and should replace the processor? Here are my specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600, Cooler: Corsair Hydro H60, Board: MSI MPG X570, RAM: 16GB (2x8), GPU: EVGA RTX3070ti, Storage: 1TB M.2 SSD (boot), 1TB HDD, 128GB SATA SSD, PSU: EVGA 650G3 (650W). The board I used is an ASUS B550m-a (no Wi-Fi). I'm still unsure if a BIOS update would help or if the hardware needs swapping. Please advise and thank you for your time.

Confirmed orientation is correct. No pins were present in the socket. A brief inspection of the CPU pins showed no issues, and insertion proceeded easily. Placed the unit upside down on my desk pad when first removed after cleaning. Can reassess later if needed, but I prefer not to do so unless required.
You can determine if it isn’t working by checking for smooth operation without any problems when lowering the retention bar. Apply pressure to the cooler to see if it maintains its position effectively.
It seems unlikely you can see it clearly. Even if visible, it would be protruding. You'd notice it from the side of the socket. I'm also unsure if the CPU would stay pressed down by the cooler's pressure. In a similar case, I assumed all pins were bent and pushed the lever, but no resistance was felt. After removing the cooler, the CPU appeared partially out, indicating bent pins. If it's hard to view it, the best way to confirm is to take it out.
