Hello, I tried the Asus TUF B450M Plus Gaming with a Ryzen 5 2600. After swapping to the Ryzen 5 5600 without updating the BIOS, the monitor didn’t show any signal. Then I went back to the 2600, left the heatsink in place, and turned on the PC, but still no display. I checked the CMOS battery, waited a bit, and it worked—still nothing on the screen. The power indicator came on but nothing visible. How can I further troubleshoot this issue? Thanks.

It might not function properly without the cooler attached. I recall doing that frequently for brief periods.

It's possible, though sometimes with Ryzen and the poor AM4 mounting it depends on the CPU cooler securing properly in the socket. You might attempt a simple reseating to ensure it's firmly placed. However, I recommend confirming the cooler is correctly installed before trying again.

Just removed one RAM module and it now starts up! (Holding the heatsink with one hand.) The BIOS is set to 3211, and it looks like it should recognize a 5600, but it didn’t boot with that chip. When the 5600 was installed, the heatsink was fine, yet the PC still powered on without any signal.

It seems some users experienced problems with earlier BIOS releases regarding memory compatibility and stability for the 5000 series. Whether the current BIOS is fully updated or only specific versions are required depends on your setup. If it isn’t fully up to date, updating to the latest available release would be advisable.

I tried to handle it by holding the heatsink, but it started working with the 5600. After that, I fully tightened the cooler, yet it still doesn’t work! What’s happening?
