PC fails to power on following an unexpected shutdown during gameplay?
I was in the middle of a game when my PC suddenly shut down, thinking the wire had moved and power was cut. I checked but the GPU's white light was still on, so I tried turning it back on again. All the RGB indicators stayed lit for just one second before everything went off once more.
I was playing a game when my computer suddenly shut down. I tried to unplug it from the outlet and plug it back in, but it wouldn’t turn on. The GPU’s white light was still on, indicating the PSU was supplying power. When I pressed the power button, the RGB lights and fans started for a second before everything cut off while the GPU light stayed on. After waiting a day and trying again, there was still no change—only the fans and RGB worked briefly before shutting down. I’m still confused about how it turned off. The PC has been with me for about a year now, and I really hope there’s a way to fix this. It took me two to three years to save enough money to buy and assemble the machine.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
Might want to pass on the game you were playing on your build prior to the system blacking out.
It functioned previously but I have no idea what occurred this week
I don't have a spare PSU... I was thinking maybe the CPU cooler isn't applying enough thermal paste, which could cause it to shut down quickly because of overheating. However, that seems unlikely since it turns off after about a second, which isn't enough time for the CPU to overheat.

I still don’t understand how it turned off. The PC has been with me for about a year now. I really hope there’s a solution, and it took me two to three years to save enough money to buy and assemble this machine.
