PC fails to power on and CPU indicators flash lights
Hey everyone. It's been a while since I was around. This morning I started my PC as usual, but after a while it would freeze, showing a black screen. It seemed like the monitors were trying to capture input but would disappear instantly. I tried reseating the RAM and the GPU, even cleaning a bit of dust off both, but now it won't boot at all—just the two lights are on. My specs are: CPU i5 10400, GPU RTX 2070, motherboard M.Z80 Mag Tomahawk B460, RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 (four sticks, 8GB each).
If reloading doesn't help, it could indicate the CPU has failed.
I delayed starting before turning it on and gently pressed the RAM sticks. Once it launched, I saw the screen (photo). It now runs smoothly in Windows.
You increased your RAM speed beyond its rated limits and enabled XMP settings.
If pressing on the RAM sticks made a difference, then your RAM sticks are not completely seated or there is dust in the RAM slots. You need to address this first. As for the failed overclock, don't mind it. Just clear the CMOS memory and try using default settings to boot. Good luck !
