Hello,
They have assembled the PC (parts connected to the motherboard for testing) but it isn’t posting. The CPU LED is red, indicating an issue there. I’ll share the components below:
- Ryzen 7 5800x
- Powercolor fighter RX 6600 XT
- 16GB Corsair DDR4 RAM 3200 (2x8GB), second-hand, possibly the cause
- MSI B550 GAMING GEN3 ATX AM4 Motherboard
- Crucial P3 1 TB M.2
- Corsair RM650 (2023) 650 W 80+ Gold
- Deepcool AG400 BK ARGB
I’m at a distance, so I can only see via video call; components appear fine. They’ve asked to verify everything, and we’ve tried troubleshooting without success. No BIOS flash has been attempted yet. Any suggestions?

It might be possible, though there are several factors that could be responsible here. The CPU might be installed improperly, or it could simply be faulty (possibly damaged), although I assume these components are new. If the CPU appears to be in good shape, the motherboard could be the issue. These are the two main reasons why the CPU light is illuminated. Additionally, the BIOS shouldn't require flashing, as B550 motherboards come out supporting the 5000 series. This information should be useful.

I agree with the same about the bios. I'll ask them to examine the CPU. If they remove the cooler to inspect, should they clean it and reapply thermal paste, even if it was just recently put on?
