PC fails to post following RAM overclocking.
I attempted to set my RAM to 3600mhz but it didn’t work. I took the CMOS battery out for 10 minutes, put it back in, and still couldn’t post. The GPU is removed, but it’s still not posting. All RGB lights and fans are spinning, and I’m unsure what’s causing the issue. Could be a dead motherboard—any advice?
reset the BIOS using a jumper for CLRTC (shorten two pins while power is off)
make sure the BIOS battery's plus sign is visible in the slot
if this doesn't work, take out the battery and then shorten the CLRTC pins again
reinstall the battery
over time, consider replacing the BIOS battery if it's old
