PC fails to post after turning on XMP.
Hi, After turning on XMP in your motherboard’s BIOS, the PC didn’t start. Fans and RGB stayed functional but the screen remained blank. I couldn’t even reach the BIOS settings. Even after resetting the CMOS, it still won’t boot. Could you help with some fixes? Your part list is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TGF3JM
Did you remove the battery using the power cable while unplugging it, then press the start button several times to clear any leftover charge? Have you tried clearing RAM by taking out the 24-pin connector and testing with a single stick or different slots? Sometimes disconnecting the motherboard cable helps too.
I do this process then I dismantle everything before sleeping. This ensures the device is completely dead and gives me peace of mind. No more worrying about spilling anything out the window. Taking a deep breath, Tommy—things are fine. Just keep breathing and relax.
Haha, PCs can sometimes get you to the point of failure, but usually it’s just straightforward. If this happened mainly because of an XMP change, I’m not sure why. It might get worse if you accidentally matched it with a parts issue. Have you checked if the motherboard speaker is connected and listening for any beeps or codes? Did you remove the GPU and reattach it, or try a new card? A BIOS flash or flashback could also help.
