Pc fails to function while downloading files
Whenever I save a game of any size on Origin or Steam client, my computer becomes extremely slow and almost impossible to use for other tasks. I have a 1tb M.2 SSD with ample space available, so I don’t think the issue is related to the drive’s speed. The Task Manager indicates that my GPU and CPU usage are under 50%, yet the lag persists during downloads. My system specs are: Radeon 5700XT, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, MSI b450 Tomahawk MAX.
Stop using the internet.
Remove all GPU drivers with DDU (clean your system carefully and don’t restart; also select all options in AMD settings under DDU).
Uninstall every processor (this is essential—ensure it’s 16 on your machine since it requires 16 threads). Follow these steps in Device Manager:
Uninstall AMD Chipset Software via the control panel (ignore if none exists).
Restart the PC to BIOS, turn off AMD FTPM and secure boot (if enabled by default), save changes and exit, then return to BIOS.
Flash the latest BIOS (repeat if using version 7C02v3F with AGESA 1.2.0.7). After updating, go to BIOS, select default or optimized settings, enable the fastest XMP profile, save and exit.
