Hello, I’m having trouble getting my PC to boot after assembling it. Once I placed the motherboard in the case, I could access the BIOS, but after connecting everything and plugging it back in, the VGA LED stays on and it still doesn’t boot. Even after removing all components from the PSU and reconnecting, the issue persists. I’ve tried updating the BIOS via the quick flash button, clearing CMOS, using a single RAM stick, unplugging everything and then plugging it back in. I also used an older working GPU, but the problem remains. The monitor is connected via HDMI and plugged into the motherboard; I tested it with the old GPU.

Specs: Z790 Aorus Elite AX motherboard, i7 14700K CPU, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM 2x48, XPG Core Reactor 2 PSU.

set up the system on a breadboard outside the case,
double-check that every connection is firmly placed,
and gently reinsert the CPU.
leave it outside the case for now.

I disassembled it and installed the CPU, RAM, and cooler onto the PSU. The VGA light issue remains—could the motherboard be defective? I also faced problems getting it to boot initially, but after resetting it multiple times without altering anything, it consistently reached BIOS.

i would initially think the cpu might be broken or not working properly.
examine if the pins are bent or missing.
check if the fans are spinning or any other lights are functioning.

The pins appear to be okay. The fans on the cooler rotate, and there are some RGB lights on the motherboard.
