PC fails to display anything after replacing the PSU and GPU from an NVIDIA model to an AMD one.
This PC is brand new, but some components were previously owned. The old graphics card was an RTX 3060 12 GB, now replaced by an RX 580 8 GB. The system runs Windows 11 Pro with an XMP profile set to 5600 MHz. RAM is 32 GB XPG Lancer at 16 GB per channel, boosted to 5600 MHz. The motherboard is an ASRock B760M Steel Legend Wi-Fi model. Storage includes MSI Spatium M480 Pro 1 TB. The power supply was a Cougar 750W fully modular unit, upgraded to a Fractal Design Ion Gold 750W unit. The CPU cooler is an Ak620 Digital White model. Initially everything functioned correctly after a boot, and Windows 11 Pro was installed. Issues arose after installing the new GPU and PSU; the PC booted normally but didn’t display anything. On restart, only the CPU temperature indicator appeared, suggesting the cooling software was active. After checking the motherboard diagnostics, I noticed the VGA and boot LEDs lit briefly before powering on. The CPU cooler display stopped working. I tested the GPU connection and found no issues, but the motherboard retained a signal for a short time before switching to VGA and boot LEDs. I also broke the PCIE retention lever out of frustration. Feel free to ask questions or share any tips!
Consider testing the AMD GPU on a different machine. If successful there, connect an NVIDIA GPU, remove the driver using DDU, and attempt the AMD GPU again. Also, could you explain why you're moving to a less powerful GPU?
