PC failed upon cloning an SSD. [RESOLVED]
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a PSY CS900 1TB to increase my PC's storage capacity. After connecting it and assigning it to drive D, I installed Acronis hoping for a backup solution. I left the cloning process running for two hours before returning, but now my PC won't even start. Is my system completely failed, and can I recover the drive? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
No indication of activity. Pressing the power button doesn’t activate anything. Accessing BIOS isn’t possible. Removing the PNY CS900 didn’t resolve the issue. My motherboard model is 80-mxb8j0-a1a04. I’m using Windows 10 with an RTX 3070 Ti and 16 GB DDR4 RAM. Someone recommended clearing the CMOS, but that didn’t help. I swapped out my old SSD and tested it on a previous computer—files remain intact. It might still be salvageable while I back up data on this older machine.
I discovered a fix. I disconnected everything from the PSU, tested them individually, and identified the problem. I realized that using the same power cable for both SSDs caused a short circuit, preventing them from turning on. Once I switched to different cables for each SSD, everything functioned properly.
