Hey! The issue you're facing is common when running stress tests on older hardware. To avoid your PC shutting down, try extending the stress test duration or using a more robust stress tool. For the CPU speed drop after testing, ensure your system isn't overloaded by checking other components and possibly upgrading RAM or adding more power. Your specs look solid—just double-check thermal management and power delivery to keep everything stable.

Well there are two problems from this time period that stand out, not about the processor... MSI motherboards for AMD (during the FX era and possibly now) are just unreliable. There are many complaints. AsRock wasn’t much better either. The other issue is a 500-watt power supply. The main concern here is I don’t have the exact model to form an opinion. Still, I find your thoughts interesting—do you need to stress test to run a game? Are crashes or failure to launch common? Anyway, my take is not the hardware yet. I’d suggest testing with a different hard drive and a fresh Windows install to check for software problems. Hfgl.

The only way to run the games is by putting stress on my CPU; otherwise the game would crash when I launch it. The PSU is a FPS500-60APN.

I’d still attempt a fresh installation on another or different storage device.
