PC experiences slowdown during basic operations?
I'll focus directly on the issue.
The PC experiences delays and stutters when performing basic tasks such as hovering over files, typing, shifting tabs, or watching videos.
In Task Manager, I observed that the Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) and Client Server Runtime Process (csrss.exe) were consuming 50% to 100% of my GPU during simple operations.
I’m uncertain whether this is due to a Windows update or a driver problem. I removed the previous Windows version and reinstalled the GPU driver using DDU, but it didn’t resolve the issue.
I thought it might be a crypto miner and ran a full scan with Kaspersky, but no threats were found.
System details:
- GPU: MPB B550 Gaming Plus
- Graphics card: RX 580
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
- RAM: 16GB at 3200Mhz
- Storage: Seasonic 500W, 1TB HDD
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Seasonic 500W is the power rating for the PSU, while 500W is the claimed wattage of the device. Could you tell me what model it is?
Where did you obtain the installer for the operating system? Unusual resource consumption during idle often suggests a corrupt OS.
