I've experienced several weeks of instability with my PC. It was very stable before, with occasional crashes now and then. Now I'm seeing at least one crash daily. My guess is it might be the riser cable or the GPU. I'm testing without the riser but wanted to know if others faced similar problems or have suggestions. I've included everything I thought could matter. Thanks ahead! Symptoms vary, but the most frequent issue is a sudden drop in in-game frame rate (from 120 to 2), followed by both monitors freezing (audio still works briefly), and then the PC restarting—sometimes within half a minute, sometimes not at all). It mostly happens during gaming, but also while watching videos or chatting. In Event Viewer I see some error codes, though sometimes nothing appears. Minidump logs show a daemon reset the video driver, timing out, which caused a reboot. Recently both screens went black instantly with no sound, and the PC restarts immediately. I've had two odd cases where my main display freezes while the secondary stays on; changing the DP cable fixed it for a few minutes at least, though it eventually crashed again. HWMonitor shows normal temperatures and power usage. Overall, I have around 100W overhead, which seems adequate even during spikes. I haven't seen BSODs before, so that's unclear. I've reset GPU and BIOS settings to defaults (worked with PBO2 at -20°C and a slight underclock), but it didn’t help. Multiple OS reinstalls tried. Tested several GPU drivers (531.41, 531.79), used DDU, ran MemTest86, swapped PSU to 850W, performed load tests—everything passed. Swapped DP cable helped in one case. Updated graphics card to ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming ITX and 32GB Corsair LP RAM, using SF450 PSU. I know this is not ideal, but it’s been stable for months. I replaced the riser cable recently. I can't imagine how the new monitor would affect things. At this point, I suspect either the GPU or the riser cable is faulty. I’m currently running the PC outside a case and haven’t had any crashes yet. My aim is to confirm the cable issue by swapping it or get enough proof to return the GPU for repair. Thanks!
