I recently upgraded from an RX 580 to an RTX 5070 and whenever I open a game after a short pause, the screen freezes. It can happen right after launch. I checked my temperatures and everything looks normal. Is this a PSU issue? As far as I know, 700 watts is more than enough. I’ve seen on other threads it might be a driver problem, but how do I fix that? My CPU model is i5-12600k.

700W is the maximum combined power, +12V only 576W, probably the old PSU can't handle the rapid power surges from your new GPU.
How did you link the GPU to power?
Updated the BIOS of the motherboard
Did you overclock the CPU?

You really should swap out that PSU. Gamemax PSUs are essentially useless. All of them. Gamemax doesn’t even offer a PSU model that’s worth using, even for a basic setup with integrated graphics. The fact you handled your RX 580 without issues doesn’t matter much because that card uses far less power and is much less prone to spikes than your RTX 5070. I’m ready to share all the evidence you need on this, or you can just trust my work since this is one of the main areas I’ve helped users with for about a decade now.
Also, if you haven’t done it yet, cleaning the installation with DDU would be a great move given your switch from an AMD card to an Nvidia one.

I assure you PSU won't reach its rated power of 576w. This unit really requires a high-quality 650w or better 750w power supply.
