I operate a PC running Windows 11 as a JBOD setup. It's a headless machine located in my garage, equipped with around seven drives. Occasionally, I connect to it via RDC for management and file transfers. My goal is to automate these transfers but I'm hesitant due to reliability concerns. The system is an i3 12100 with 16 GB RAM, built on ASUS hardware, featuring an iGPU only but headless, and includes an LSI HBA. From a cold start—shutting down and booting—I can log into RDC, close the session, and it functions correctly. I can reconnect multiple times without interruption, and the PC keeps processing transfers even when disconnected. After a reboot or restart, RDC behaves as expected. The issue arises after putting the PC to sleep. I can wake it using WOL without problems. Once connected through RDC, the PC automatically powers down when I disconnect, even during active tasks like file transfers. Restarting it afterward restores normal operation. I'm unsure how to resolve this. I've checked several forums recently (1–3 months old), but no solutions have been found. My sleep setting is set to "never," and I can't disable it because that would prevent WOL from working on Windows 11. Additionally, there don't seem to be any RDC settings to block this behavior. Any suggestions?
