PC entered hibernate mode despite being disabled, possibly due to a PSU problem.
Hey there, so I left rendering some files last night and woke up to discover my PC was completely off. When I tried to turn it on, it shut down instantly. After restarting, all my apps remained open, which is odd since I had just shut it down completely. I checked the Event Viewer and saw it went to sleep because it was marked as "idle," but that didn’t match unless the rendering froze. I also looked at my power plan settings—hibernation was disabled, yet it entered hibernate mode with fans and lights off. Hybrid Sleep allowed, but in that mode the fans and lights stayed on even when I forced it into sleep. This happened twice in the past few months, right after leaving it on overnight. It’s strange and seems like a sign something was off before the failure.
Introduced with the Creators Update, this hybrid-hybrid Windows setup remembers your open apps and restarts them automatically when you log back in. To turn it off, navigate to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Privacy and uncheck the corresponding box.
